WHY MOST VMWARE CUSTOMERS ARE STUCK

Broadcom didn't give you a choice. Most companies wait too long to act.

Renewal sticker shock

A 3–10x jump at renewal is now common. For a $20M company, a VMware line item moving from $40K to $200K+ a year is board-level news — and a conversation that cannot be delayed.

Forced bundles you never asked for

VCF/VVF bundling means paying for storage and networking virtualisation capabilities you never needed — just to keep the hypervisor you actually use.

Multi-year lock-in with an unpredictable vendor

Subscriptions run 1–3 years with no perpetual fallback. Committing multi-year dollars to a vendor whose pricing just proved unpredictable is a risk most businesses can no longer justify.

WHAT WE OPTIMISE FOR

Every savings lever quantified. Nothing left on the table

Eliminate Broadcom licensing

Rehost or modernise workloads to fully exit the Broadcom ecosystem on day one.

Right-sizing

Pay for what your VMs actually use, not what was allocated. Most environments reveal significant over-provisioning immediately.

Zombie VM retirement

Idle VMs found in virtually every assessment — paying for compute that delivers nothing. We identify and retire them before migration.

Hardware refresh avoidance

Elastic AWS capacity removes the "buy for 5 years of headroom" capital cycle — shifting from unpredictable CapEx to predictable monthly OpEx.

Our process follows 4 simple stages

Week 0: Free VMware Assessment

We review your VMware environment, renewal situation, VM inventory, and MAP funding eligibility. You get a workload disposition plan and TCO comparison within 4–7 days.

Week 1: Fixed Proposal

Fixed price, fixed timeline, clear migration path. No time-and-materials, no open-ended scope. MAP funding eligibility confirmed and applied.

Weeks 2–6: Migration

AWS Application Migration Service replicates your workloads to AWS with zero downtime. We handle wave planning, cutover, validation, and post-migration testing.

Week 6+: Optimise

Right-size instances, retire zombie VMs, adopt AWS managed services — turning a forced licensing event into a real infrastructure upgrade.

VMware migration, answered.

Will we have downtime during the migration?

No. AWS Application Migration Service continuously replicates your VMware VMs to AWS while your production environment keeps running. Cutover happens during a scheduled maintenance window and typically takes minutes per workload.

Can AWS funding offset our migration cost?

Yes. The AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) provides funding, tools, and training specifically for VMware migrations. We assess your MAP eligibility as part of the free VMware Assessment — many SMB customers find it covers a significant portion of the engagement cost.

Do we have to rewrite our applications?

No. Both rehost and relocate paths move workloads as-is. Application modernisation is optional and happens after migration, on your timeline.

How long does migration take?

For a typical SMB environment with 20–150 VMs, Cloudtech completes migrations in four to eight weeks from kickoff to production.

Getting started takes 2 minutes.
